At this moment of writing, I am still in the interview process but due to the lack of communication, I have given up. I applied for a role at Accenture and was contacted by a recruiter.
We set a time for a telephone interview. The recruiter called me 36 minutes before the interview to try to cancel (I missed the call, and he didn't leave a voicemail, and the number was unknown).
Come 12:30, I waited for his call, and nothing happened, so I sent an email. No response.
As I didn't have his number, there was nothing I could do.
At 3 pm, I received an email letting me know he had been dragged into a meeting as they had some priority roles they had to hire for (Yup, shows how much they wanted me. I should have seen this first red flag).
He agreed via email to call me at 5 pm that day. He didn't call.
I emailed him that Monday, Tuesday, and then on Thursday. He never responded once.
On Friday, I finally managed to find an Accenture number and was put through to him. He apologized and rescheduled the interview.
A week later, I had the first-stage telephone interview. He claims it went well and would be progressing me to the next stage. The next step would be a member from his team sending me details for my last interview.
It's been two weeks. I have called and emailed, and he hasn't responded once.
The disrespect from the onset has been so unnecessary and disheartening, especially for a role and sector I know I am fully capable and qualified for.
Perhaps if my name didn't look the way it did, I would've received more respect.
