I applied online. The process took 5 weeks.

The process started with an HR screening (Global Europe), followed by a technical interview with a Team Lead from the Riga office, about a week later. The technical interview covered CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes, troubleshooting, and general infrastructure topics. The technical interview went well.

After the interview, I was informed by the Vilnius office that based on their evaluation I would potentially be eligible to proceed to the next stage, which would be a final discussion with the hiring manager, who was also based in Riga. The hiring manager interview was then scheduled and subsequently postponed several times. In total, the process was extended by a couple of weeks.

Several days before the rescheduled hiring manager interview, the recruiter contacted me and asked about my citizenship, stating that EU citizenship was required for the available projects. This was new information to me, as there was no EU citizenship requirement mentioned in the job description. After I replied that I was not an EU citizen, the interview was cancelled.

Overall, I found the technical part of the process professional and relevant. However, I was disappointed that such a fundamental eligibility requirement was raised only after the HR screening, technical interview, and several attempts to schedule the hiring manager interview. My main takeaway is that the technical evaluation itself was positive, but the process around eligibility and scheduling could have been handled much earlier and more clearly.
