I interviewed with Accenture previously in February 2020 and had a terrible experience. They kept me waiting for 4 hours, and when I approached the recruitment team, I came to know the interview panel was not even available. Somehow, I managed to finish all the rounds over the next 2 weeks with multiple follow-ups, and I haven't received any feedback after the final round, which I think went well.
It might have been due to the COVID situation because when I received a call again in September, I was told the same, and I readily agreed and wanted to give another try.
So, the HR agreed to set up an interview on September 30th, 2020, at 13:00, which is a Wednesday, and I received the confirmation email.
Shortly after that, I received another call asking if we could do it on Saturday. I informed them I had other plans for the weekend, and we both agreed to go with Monday, i.e., September 28th, 2020. She was very impolite and sounded reckless over the call.
She told me that I needed a personal laptop, which I don't have, but I said I would try to get one. She asked me to call and confirm once I managed to get one. So, I called and confirmed that I would manage with one of my cousin's laptops. Thus, everything was talked about and confirmed over the call, but I got no email.
However, I received an invite for Saturday, and after that, I got almost 6-7 calls from the Accenture team asking to confirm that I would be available for the interview on Saturday. Every time, I patiently explained that my interview was not supposed to be on Saturday but on Monday. I have to say, some were polite and professional, while others were rude and authoritative.
On Saturday evening, I received an email saying that I hadn't attended the interview even after confirming, and hence the interview was considered null and void. An interview I never agreed to schedule in the first place is being considered null and void!!
By the way, I haven't received any update on the interview that was supposed to be on September 28th, i.e., Monday.
Few days later, I received a call from Accenture again asking if I'll be available on October 6th, 2020, i.e., Tuesday. I said yes, and a confirmation email was also sent.
And one day before the interview, another email was sent that the interview was cancelled due to certain unforeseen circumstances.
Again, I got a call asking if I am available on October 13th. I said yes, received a confirmation email, all good. But nowhere was I informed about the "technical test" that I must take before the interview.
I received an email around 8:30 on the day of the interview, which I checked around 10:30, that I must take the test. It was a weekday, and I had my regular office work, so I planned my day so that I could take a break from 13:00 to 14:00 and attend the interview.
I joined the call, the interviewer did too, and everything went fine. He asked if I had any questions at the end of the interview, and right then, someone from HR joined the call and questioned me very rudely in front of the interviewer that how I took the interview without giving the test first. I kept my cool and tried to tell him that I hadn't been informed, but he cut me mid-sentence, saying an email was sent.
There was no point trying to reason with him then, but I just want to ask, in what sane world can someone send an interview call link before sending the test link if the test is mandatory and blame the person attending the interview?
I am so sorry, Accenture Recruitment team. I have no intention of getting into your company through any shortcuts. I have cleared the test and 3 rounds previously, and I am pretty sure I am talented enough to do it again.
But I am fed up with your process now, and I must say that many of my friends are victims of your poorly designed recruitment process, where you never value people's time by keeping them waiting for an entire day in your offices in the name of an interview and continuously drowning them in calls, messages, and emails for weeks, all because of your weak internal communication.
