Process

I was given a verbal offer, but something feels off about Accenture. Make sure you ask around and do your research to see if this is really the place you want to be.

Recruiters don't seem to know what they're hiring for. I interviewed four different times for the same position.

The first time was with a rep from Northern Virginia. I was passed on, but because my experience definitely covered the job description, I applied to other areas for the same position, like Texas. My fourth interview happened to be with the same Virginia rep as my first. She put me through this time, but probably didn't remember me. With almost two decades at Accenture, it wasn't a great sign. The position wasn't even for a specific project; it was general. Once you get hired, you then look for a project.

Contact throughout the rest of the interviews was prompt, and there was communication. More on this later.

I passed the technical interview. I went to the fit interview. I heard my results were good, and they wanted to offer me a position.

For two months, still counting, they kept saying they'd follow up and provide information. I emailed them for updates, and they continued to say, "Next week, we just need approvals." They were never the ones to reach out to me with updates like they said.

I'm not sure how they do this for years. They tell candidates people are out on vacation for months at a time. Maybe they are, or maybe that's their way of bidding for more time or just looking like they're going through the hiring process. I hear a lot about fake job postings these days.

Something about possibly giving the perception that they're doing better than they are, or to tell their employees they're trying, or something else. I've seen this position reposted several times throughout my applications.

They are now ghosting me and are unresponsive. No response to emails or phone calls, yet I'm still being "approved," as I had someone check internally and they mentioned it's still a wait. They did not reach back out to me with that update.

I saw that there was news that they intend to delay promotions/raises on 9/17/24 and possibly slowed business. Maybe that's why they're having issues in getting it approved; they're not doing as great, but they won't be transparent?
