Initially, we quickly got into conversation, followed by an appointment for a simple live coding challenge in React. The challenge was extremely easy, and the recruiter gave me the good feeling that I had mastered it very well.
Some time later, there was a call from the future boss, and that's where it got a bit confusing. The conversation was somewhat uncoordinated and random. I was asked again about my career path and had to answer random questions about CSS and SCSS off the top of my head. Then, there was a lot of beating around the bush about my unfinished degree, which has absolutely nothing to do with the job. They wanted to make it clear to me how important academics are to them in hiring, as if my 7 years of study in two subjects were completely irrelevant. Of course, nobody got in touch afterwards, neither a rejection nor an acceptance!
Career path and experience were queried, as well as what skills one possesses that are relevant in the new job.
