It was an AWS Developer level 10 position.
Interview process as per conversation with HR:
The first round online assessment questions were good, to the point, and scenarios were clear.
Second round: Answer 6 out of 10 correct questions, then the interviewer will proceed further.
They will not ask questions on their own scenarios or projects or what they actually need.
The interviewer didn't ask me about my technical background and moved straight to his 6/10 questions.
Some of my valid answers/approaches were not there in the multiple choices for the questions. The interviewer was reading from AWS whitepapers for AWS dev cert or some online content.
If you haven't worked on that AWS service, it's a -1 for you; move to the next question.
The interviewer was static with the content he was reading. It is normal to discuss scenarios. He denied to discuss, and we moved to the next question.
Advice to the HR department and interviewers: Please categorize AWS positions (Dev./Sol. Arch./DevOps/Security).
There can be multiple solutions for a scenario-based question, and valid solutions may not be there in your multiple choices.
Interviews must discuss solutions with the candidate and listen to the candidate's approach.
Hire wisely.
