Also great for moving around different industries to try different things out.
Really have to be your own advocate in the promotion process. In my experience, nobody is keeping tabs on your performance like in a traditional job.
I've worked with individuals who shouldn't have gotten promoted, and they simply talked themselves up, whereas people who were deserving of promotion were overlooked because they couldn't market themselves in a great way.
Don't be afraid to have hard conversations with team members when other people on the team consistently bring up concerns.
