Your happiness entirely depends on the project you are on. If you are under a bad manager, then it becomes difficult to roll off from a project.

No promotion and hike. You may also receive less variable pay. Even people advisors will favor the managed only, and you will be left with one option – switch the company.

A 3-month notice period is also difficult to bear. Many companies do not even call seeing a 3-month NP.

If you are on the bench and you are hard-locked to a different project, then it becomes difficult to roll off, and you end up working in a different technology which you might not like.

This is especially with regards to less popular technologies like FileMaker.

A people advisor should be neutral and not biased.

People should be allocated to projects based on their skills and not through forceful hard locking.
