Once you are stuck with a technology, it's difficult to change to a new one.
Internal hikes, although great, still do not make up for market standards.
Take into account the value of a resource to the project and the company as a whole before you let him/her go to a different company for a meager 2-3 lakhs per annum. The same resources join back after 2 years at a much higher CTC than this. The reason being they never wanted to leave but had no option to increase their CTC.
