Pros

Good learning opportunities and cross-scaling ability.

Cons

There's no growth, even if you put 48 hours of work in 24 hours. The 'senior management' still won't even recognize you. They keep saying that they have to recognize everyone from the team, but they always recognize their favorites.

If you joined as a fresher, you can be a TL in 4-5 years of experience. But if you joined as a lateral at SE or SSE level, you will have to fight a lot, and there will always be differentiation with people of the same experience who joined as a fresher.

This company feels that they have invented the word 'politics'; you can see it in each and every step you take in the organization.

Yes, there are lots of learning/cross-scaling opportunities, but your manager will never release you, even if you show them certifications of other technologies. Yes, they will tempt you with the term 'onshore opportunities,' and you will have to work until you are worn out. They will let you live on a bare minimum salary. Just imagine who can survive with a family on 50-60K USD (annually) in California!

And whenever you ask for promotion, they will have all the reasons not to promote you.

In the recent tough times, when the world was standstill due to COVID, I had to lose my job due to unnecessary pressure from a whole bunch of different HR persons. They were repatriating me as my Visa date was nearing its end and USCIS offices were closed. But they also told me that I would have to join Accenture on the same level and salary I was getting 2 years back when I was in India.

Unfortunately, I had to leave this organization because nobody was supporting me (India project manager, US project manager, and of course, HR).

Advice to Management

Yes, Accenture is full of policies, and every company is. But at least make one policy which is in favor of employees.
