Once hired, you have no choice as to what programming language or capability you'd like to be in. There's too much overtime, and if needed, on-call work where you must work once you receive a call and be able to resolve the issue even though you are resting at home.
Upon hiring, ask the new hire what technology or programming language they want to work with, so they will be working on what they really like.
