When you are working in Accenture, there are no pros. So please try to forget about the pros of working in Accenture.
In terms of cons, the list is too high. Starting with:
The work-life balance. If you are selected in Accenture, then you have to forget about your personal life. All you have to do is sit in front of your laptop all day (WFO/WFH) and do whatever tasks your manager forces you to do. If you somehow manage to say no to any one of the work, then a negative feedback will be given to you. If you try to work upon that negative feedback afterwards, you will not get any positive feedback from your manager. This will affect your appraisal or may lead to termination.
Mental Pressure. While working in Accenture, you may face many illnesses mentally and physically. Physical illness can be cured, but mental illness is a kind of setback for your whole life. Accenture is a company where you are mentally pressured each and every day. Nobody from higher authorities will help you; they are there to make you mentally ill. Even some of the HRs are also involved.
Internal Politics. This term is common in every company, but in Accenture, it is a kind of their daily routine. Whenever you try to put your point in front of your manager and give them your approach to solve any kind of problem, they will go against you and give negative feedback. This may result in appraisal, promotion, or even may lead to the termination of your contract with the company. So, in Accenture, only those employees who are the manager’s puppets can survive. If you are creative or try to be creative, Accenture is not the right place to work. You have to be a ‘YES SIR’ person and put your head down and work as a ‘daily wage worker,’ not as a professional.
Career Growth. This term is a joke in Accenture. Whatever you do, gain multiple skills, do multiple certifications, etc., there is no term like career growth in Accenture. I tried to change my technology, informed my manager, gave multiple skill exams, and certified myself in my desired technology, but still, what I got is negative performance feedback, which led to my resignation.
Miscellaneous. If you are in Accenture, first they will give you good perks at the start, but those perks don’t matter because there is no job safety in Accenture. Once you have completed 1-2 years in Accenture, anytime, any day, you can be fired from the company, even though you are a good performer. It is fully dependent on your relations with your manager. If you are not in his good books, then he will try by any means to kick you out from the organization. They have a constant reason for firing you, i.e., ‘performance issue.’ If you try to ask for further clarification, the manager will ignore you with the above-mentioned reason. No one in the organization is supportive at the management level (based upon my experience).
The only thing I want to tell in the end is to choose wisely before joining Accenture. There are multiple good companies in the market; keep your growth path first, not the company’s name or reputation. All these names and reputations are fake; as an Accenture employee, I know the harsh reality of the company.
If I want to summarize my above points, it will be:
Focus on the goodwill of the company rather than being self-obsessed. If you focus on the company's growth, your growth will automatically happen. And please try to understand lower-level employees' difficulties and problems. Don't use the negative powers of your position. There are many lower-level employees who are the sole source of income in their families.
