The company also requires you to take a certain amount of training every year, and they pay for it all. You are reviewed every 6 months to a year and have a chance for a large pay raise each time and possibly a promotion (in job description only), which could include an additional raise.
Even though I just sit at a computer desk all day, I'm not allowed to wear headphones and listen to music while I work. I do understand the "whys" of this, though. It does make the communication lines between people feel more open; you don't feel that people might not be listening to you.
