Pros

Extensive benefits

Accenture offers all full-time employees subsidized medical compensation up to 30% of their clinical visits and subsidized dental consultation. Full-time employees are allowed to visit some tourist attractions for free.

High degree of autonomy and job flexibility

Everyone in the team is given a clear role in the project. They are held accountable for their own actions and are allowed to work in the way they feel is right. The company is more of a 'result-only work environment,' where you can work at your own pace and timing, as long as you meet the deadline. The company allows you to enter the company at your own timing, as long as it's not overboard. I have worked with developers who only came into work after lunch.

Cons

No sense of purpose

There is no sense of purpose working in the company. One of the company's mottos is 'Client Value Creation'. From my understanding, Client Value Creation is to advise the client on what is best for them, and not blindly follow what the clients ask for. This ultimately lets the clients suffer with a lousy product.

Unattainable goals

More often, the project manager sets unrealistic deadlines for almost every aspect of the project. At the start of project planning, the management has already planned 10 (+/- 1) hours of workload to be completed in a workday, which allowed them to complete the project on time. With such unattainable goal-setting, employees often found themselves working overtime daily.

Unfair pay compensation

More often than not, more than half of the employees work overtime more than 40% of their regular working hours for an extended period of more than two months annually. There is no overtime pay for any additional hours put in. In addition, the management is not at all appreciative of the employees' overtime efforts; instead, the management sees it as compulsory free labor.

When comparing the pay structure of the project, almost half of the employees are being paid below the market rate.

Closed-minded management

Whenever the management encounters a problem, they will seek advice from the employees. However, the management will more often than not not take the advice and will make their own decisions. This makes feedback irrelevant, and slowly, employees stop giving feedback as they know that their feedback will not be taken by the management.

Advice to Management

The US HQ should review how the Singapore office is run. The whole management, from top to bottom, is filled with people who only care about how to earn the most profit from the project, not about the welfare of the employees.
