Cons
  1. Hikes at senior levels (level 8 & above) are very minimal.

  2. Accenture has removed bell curve comparison, but that is just namesake. You will still be compared with your peers.

  3. If you are a new joinee in Accenture, you will get a minimum hike for at least 2 years, irrespective of your performance. They give a strange reason for that. They say you have already got a decent hike when you joined, and now we need to bring our existing employees to your compensation level.

  4. Promotions at the senior level are very tough. They are mostly dependent on your relations with your managers, your negotiation skills, and the number of years you spent in Accenture. Performance is the last parameter considered for promotions in my opinion.

  5. Entry into Accenture is easy. Survival is tough. Your actual struggle starts after you join Accenture. You should have a good network within Accenture to get good projects. Otherwise, you will land up in a project that will screw you completely.

Advice to Management
  1. People join any company for continuous growth, not one-time growth. Therefore, a strategy of giving lesser hikes to lateral joiners and more hikes to existing employees is a poor one. This strategy should be changed.

  2. I have observed that w.r.t. promotions and hikes, Accenture India operates in a different manner than Accenture in other parts of the world. Promotions are easier in Accenture outside India and tougher in Accenture India. I am not sure why there is discrimination in ATCI.

  3. Give decent hikes to your existing employees who have stayed with Accenture for longer terms. This will reduce the difference in pay for employees at the same level.
