It totally depends on your project/account. If you got into a good account, you will get great opportunities to grow.
In my case, I didn't get good accounts. Most projects I got were short-term (4-6 months). After completing them, we again needed to search for a project. You need to be very patient when you are on an account bench, as it sometimes takes 3-4 months to get a new project.
