Pros

Supportive environment, a lot of opportunities to learn, and a good healthcare plan.

Cons

The hoops you have to jump through to get promoted.

Doing excellent project work won't get you far if you don't submit "contributions" within the company in the form of organising events, writing blog posts, hosting workshops, etc.

Also, those are not considered as extra hours, so you either have to do it on project hours or your own time.

So, eventually, if you want to move up, you end up doing a lot of uncompensated work for the company.

Advice to Management

Abolish the contributions system.
