Even though you are a skilled person, the chance of getting utilized by a project is low. And due to more employees, it's very difficult to get recognized. All this is based on your luck and the project you are assigned to. I know a few people get recognized in a few months, whereas a few are struggling for many years.

Please make sure the new joiners are comfortable with projects assigned. Also, provide an option to give feedback on supervisors, so it helps to decide how good the management is.
