Pros

I have been working at Accenture for the last 3 years. It is one of the best cultured companies. They have focused on new technologies and always talk about innovation and all. They run these IOA (Innovation, Origination, Automation) drives, which are implemented by projects within teams. Clients are good and from all over the globe, but of course, it all depends on which project you are working on. Politics is in all companies, so this is not an exception. They have the best policies, especially for women employees. They support with WFH and good durations of maternity leaves, etc. (I'm a male, by the way

).

The project that I am currently working on has implemented more than 80% agile methodology, which is great actually. So many things are good about this company.

Infrastructure (Pune Magarpatta), work ethics, core values, diversity (inclusion of LGBTQ+, especially I like the fact that they employ many differently-abled people, not just in tech staff but in housekeeping staff as well). Sports activities and fun activities are more frequently arranged (depends on the project).

There are very strict policies for misconduct and POS. Generally, people don't realize that they are harassing because they are not aware of such things. Hence, the best part is they have made these training mandatory every 4-6 months.

Overall, it is the best MNC to work for. A good brand name helps when you go out. The pay scale is better than other MNCs.

Cons

I was hired on a good hike, but my first appraisal happened after 18 months, as I was not eligible for the immediate cycle. Shockingly, they just gave me a 1.5% hike, and HR said this was for market correction. This was a totally frustrating experience, as I worked for almost 2.5 years on the same salary I joined with.

This has happened to many lateral new joiners. In the first year, they just give you a default hike and no promotion. So, say at your designation level, if you have only a 1.5% margin left as per their salary bands, then you get only that much hike in your first appraisal. So, try to get hired at an appropriate level, such as with 3+ years of experience, you can ask for Senior Software Analyst, so at least you will get a satisfactory hike in your first appraisal.

First year, my manager was a person with no moral ethics. He used to ask me to have a clean shave, to seat at my desk for 10 hours, and there was a lot of micromanagement. But, as I said, it's all your luck which type of people you get to work with. (That manager got fired this year, though.)

Advice to Management

Good company, and I hope you keep it good.

Politics and all are everywhere, so I won't expect any different.

The hiring process could be better.

There are too many portals for different things, which is confusing most of the time.
