Pros

Good opportunities for young college grads to get experience, and for seasoned vets to find interesting work.

Benefits are pretty good.

Lots of training is available for a large range of technologies and concepts, available as CBTs.

Cons

Management is absolutely horrible. If you are a level 10 or below, higher-ups will use you to pad their numbers then throw you away when done.

If you aren't good at brown-nosing, be prepared to go nowhere. Only apply if you have good office politics skills. Otherwise, you're just a number.

Pay is far below industry average, and raises and promotions are terribly difficult to get due to their "ladder system".

Advice to Management

Don't use and abuse your employees. I've had management lie to my face about a number of things. Yet, there is no real power structure for employees to have their grievances heard that results in immediate tangible action.

While working at client sites, I felt utterly alone. As if I had no help, no backup, and no resources available. It was me against the world.

Management seems all too happy to use little strikes against you as any excuse to shut you out. I wasted one and a half years of my life working hard to appease the client, only to be thrown out the door over one slip-up. A slip-up that I didn't even know was a problem because management failed to communicate the client's feedback to me. I was punished for my manager's incompetence!
