Work-life balance should not be just on paper, and people need to be supported with checkpoints.
Sometimes politics in appraisals affects people's morale.
Just understand what your lower-level teammate is going through and address them. I have seen many HR connect sessions where employees give a lot of feedback, and in my experience, when the feedback reaches senior management, it is never addressed.
Just don't focus only on business, but put more effort on people as well, as they are the asset for running the business.
