Possibility to work in other countries.
This feedback will be useful for people who want to come to work from outside Latvia and for what you should be prepared.
It is not an IT company which develops products; the business of the company is to sell people on projects, and everything revolves around this. As many people as they can sell to clients, as much income they have.
If you are older than 25-27 years and you have been working in product companies, which cared about the products they make, for you it will be a nightmare.
There are many non-experienced employees straight from universities who should be sold, as the company needs to pay them a salary. People are sold to projects not according to their competence and experience, but indeed, just to be sold. People are pushed to study irrelevant, outdated courses instead of growing in technical areas.
The motivation system is structured such that managers get their promotions depending on how many people they can sell. So they don’t care about the quality they deliver.
That is why people work under high stress because they don’t have good technical specialists and architects. There is constant attrition in the company.
If you are a technical specialist and you want to develop yourself in this area, then this company will be a waste of time, and you will start to lose your competence and become more of a mail-manager, as required by their motivation system.
Salaries are below market. There are only 3-4 IT companies in Latvia, and you almost don’t have any choice; you will be locked into this company. The company uses this market situation, and managers treat employees as slaves.
Be also prepared to be departed from the country, as it has happened already, because of the unprofessionalism of HR, who don’t know Latvian laws. They are also not capable of giving you information on how to get a working visa if you are assigned to a project in another country, and you will need to do everything by yourself.
Also, be prepared to get your last salary three weeks after your last working day, and you will need to write them letters to get your money.
They breach Latvian labor law by delaying your salary.
After resignation, they will send you letters with threats that they have discovered that you entice employees to other companies.
This branch is a shame for Accenture.
