Got in as a fresh grad back in 2017 with a below-average initial compensation. However, after just 1 year of working, I got a raise above the average. Worth all the efforts.
Face the reality that you need to work very hard to deliver good results that are worth having a promotion. It's stressful and may depress you working 10 hours a day.
