Consulting is good because you learn by the seat of your pants, you have to figure things out and fast. However, this process is sometimes very exhausting, because there are projects where you are literally thrown in without the minimum preparation and have to figure things out and help the team to solve them. But this comes at a cost and can generate anxiety and a high level of stress because the pressure is great.
As it is consulting, they earn on your labor, so the salary is generally lower than if you were a direct contractor.
