• Below average pay for software engineers.
• A culture around offshore work for software engineers, which means people on-site (in Europe, at least) seem to be more expected to be "leaders" and "businesspeople" rather than good at software. (This is promoted by some people at the company, not everyone).
• Staffing on projects is not always done well. As an employee, you sometimes feel strongly advised to take projects that you clearly are not excited about.

Create a more clear career track for software engineers. They shouldn't be grouped with the rest of technology consultants, as the required skills are generally much higher and demanding.
