Higher-level management needs to balance the ability to deliver on a contract with the needs and desires of employees to grow in their careers. Part of what drove me and others on my team away was bad senior management that didn't work with us to pivot or grow in our careers. Instead, they changed our job titles at will for the needs of the client.
