Pros

ACN is known to be the best service-based company in India. However, this is not true for all projects they work on.

If you are lucky and assigned to a good project under a good leader (and not a manager), you will surely thrive.

Onsite opportunities are good if you are lucky to get a chance. Long-term ones are very common as well.

Bus/shuttle service is very good and helpful during normal business hours and traffic-flooded roads.

Cons

The following policies are not at all employee friendly:

  1. No matter how hard you work, and no matter what your performance rating is, you will only get one-fourth of the VPI that is part of your CTC for the first year. This is known as ACN's default VPI policy.

  2. To quickly fill project requirements, ACN puts an additional component to your CTC known as a Hot-skill bonus during the hiring process, which is a good amount (usually 70-80k). The recruiters will keep all related details under wraps. However, during the first appraisal cycle, they knock off this component with no questions answered and give a nominal hike. This results in a minor change to the CTC and thus no gain to the employee.

  3. They have a policy for project roll-off after a period of 18 months. However, it is very rare that your request for roll-off is even considered. In case you somehow manage to get a roll-off, the next manager would need to take feedback from the previous manager for the next appraisal cycle, where the previous manager gets the opportunity to ruin one's career.

So, they are only happy if the talent stays under the same project forever or resigns and goes to some other organization.

  1. ACN has very little shift allowance compared to other companies. It also has very stringent cab facility rules for people working in shifts.

  2. ACN has the slowest and most non-responsive recruitment process ever! Even after clearing all interview rounds and documentation, it can easily take 4-6 months for them to release the final offer letter.

Advice to Management

Please focus on retaining talent rather than just hiring them and then forgetting about their welfare. Also, instead of just focusing on business ethics policies, please also work on policies related to employee benefits.
