Process

All I can say is that I am truly grateful for this opportunity, and I cannot wait to embark on this new journey in my life.

A quick overview of my interview process: There was a total of four interviews, which took over a span of 1-2 months. This was mostly because of me, as I was busy with some work and personal stuff.

  • The 1st one was with the recruiter for 30 minutes.
  • The 2nd one was with the Hiring Manager for an hour.
  • The 3rd one was a five-round interview, which took four hours, with the managers and members of the team.
  • The last one was a 30-minute conversation with the CEO of the company.

You can tell, as you go through the interview process, everyone at the company is very compassionate, professional, and understanding. There is so much opportunity for professional growth; it excites me.

1st: It all started with a recruiter reaching out to me via LinkedIn. I do think I would be here if it weren’t for this encounter and this recruiter; I am genuinely grateful. After our introduction through LinkedIn message, we had an opportunity to connect via a phone interview, learning about each other, our experiences, the role, and opportunities at Acorns (just bonding). I had a wonderful time having a conversation with the recruiter. The recruiter was so professional, relatable, and understanding that the recruiter made me feel comfortable. The recruiter also did a wonderful job keeping me informed throughout the whole process.

2nd: After having passed the first interview (yes!), it was onto a 60-minute technical/behavioral/professional interview with the hiring manager. This is when I knew I wanted to work here. As I was connecting with the hiring manager, I was able to understand how meaningful the work I will be contributing to. I also got to understand how compassionate, kind, and caring everyone is, not only for each other’s success but also for the customers they serve.

3rd: After having passed the 2nd interview (yes!!), it was onto a four-hour interview with the managers and members of the team. Before the meeting, the recruiter scheduled a conversation with you to go over what the interview will entail and what to expect. For me, this interview was five rounds, comprised of experience, behavior, and technical. This is when I really got to understand and dig deeper into the team and the projects I will be contributing to, which only added fuel to my desire to get this job.

4th: Lastly, after having passed the 3rd interview (yes!!!), it was an opportunity to have a conversation with the CEO, Noah Kerner. Getting to know each other, learning about the future of the company, and having the opportunity to get mentorship from an entrepreneur.

Everyone, from the start to the end, was extraordinary. I can tell, after having connected and conversed with them, how passionate and caring everyone at Acorns is about the success of the company, its mission, and each other. The fact that the CEO made time to talk to me just says a lot about the company.
