Pros
  • Very intelligent group of engineers.
  • The CTO is a solid leader and prioritizes sustainable scaling and system resilience.
  • Flexibility to wear different caps, learn different disciplines, and try new things.
Cons
  • CEO has little to no accountability.
  • The company preaches value but is unable to live into them.
  • This past year has been more about "a road to profitability" than features that actually help "everyday Americans save and invest everyday."
Advice to Management

This company has lost sight of its original vision to help lower the barrier to entry for investing and building wealth. Here are some suggestions:

  • Place checks and balances for C-level decision making.
  • Don't trade down on values. Swapping "advancing society" for "find a way" is unacceptable for those who had originally joined the company to promote social good.
  • Try harder to keep your best people.
