I interviewed at Adyen for a Senior Software Engineer role. After an introductory call focused on culture fit and Adyen's formula, I received positive feedback and was presented a tech case where I had to make a project to showcase my skills. The case was not defined properly and left too much to the imagination, especially for the short amount of time requested to spend on it. I did not hear back from the internal recruiter until 3 weeks after sending in my project, when they let me know the role was already fulfilled. I cannot recommend applying for a role at Adyen. Being asked to implement a vaguely described project that is too big for the time allocated to do properly (correct architecture, DI, test cases) and then getting turned down after not hearing back for weeks just feels like a waste of time.

What Adyen formula point resonates with you the best?

Make use of the Foursquare API to build an app that shows a list of venues around the user’s location. Optionally, give the user the possibility to adjust the radius of interest.

Decide yourself which venue details should be relevant to the user. You have full freedom on how to present data on screen. Submit the code that you consider to be final. We are going to check your implementation for understanding mobile platform specifics, correct UX choices, overall architecture design, and code quality.
