Process

I got a calendar invite from HR. I scheduled the interview and canceled all my plans and activities that day.

I entered the Zoom meeting on time. The first few minutes, no one showed up. Then Zoom showed that the host joined and would let me in, but they didn't. I waited for 25 minutes, but no one showed up.

I left and sent an email to HR about what happened. A few hours later, I got a call from her. She was apologizing for what happened, etc. She asked me if she could reschedule the interview, and I said yes.

The interview got rescheduled to next week, and for personal reasons, I entered the interview 4 minutes late. The interview was by two engineers, and it was average, nothing hard. It was just questions for cultural fit to the company and the team.

Here is the funny thing: I got the rejection letter.

There was detailed feedback with multiple points. I don't mind any of the points (as constructive feedback) except this:

"Punctuality: Please note that arriving late to the interview, even by a few minutes, can leave a negative impression. We highly value punctuality as it reflects our respect for each other's time."

I'm happy for the rejection. It is not me who is not culturally fit to Adyen; Adyen is not a company with a culture I would work in.
