I applied directly to their careers page. The recruiter reached out a few days later. He asked about my past experiences, shared with me more about Adyen's culture and his experience working there. He also briefed me on the next steps, which I thought was nice.
About two days later, I spoke with the team. It was a nice conversation where we got into the more technical stuff – projects, etc. They were very friendly and answered all my questions. It was a fruitful discussion.
About three hours after the team round, I received a HackerRank challenge. I found it to be interesting, but I felt I didn't do too well on the test, and this was confirmed during the skills interview. Nonetheless, the team gave me constructive feedback and shared where I was lacking.
Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity. Although I did not make it through, I still found the experience to be a positive one.
Word of advice: Do your homework on their culture, read up a little about their products, and be prepared to provide concrete examples during the interviews.
Share with me a project that you've worked on.
