I don't know other managers, but I've got lucky with mine.

They are supportive and are trying to provide me with opportunities to have more impact and grow my career.

My team is made of very productive, supportive, and engaged teammates. What a relief.

The codebase is pretty bad. The internally created tools/stack is also pretty bad, but there are talks of dropping the in-house tools and using a more standard stack.

I already saw some improvements and investments in terms of internal tooling to support ephemeral dev environments and a migration from one testing tool to another. This migration has been handled by a dev-experience team with no impact to other teams (thanks!).

Kudos on introducing KPIs. I think they are the right approach. Alignment on goals and workstreams is something that needs to be improved.

KPIs should be committed, and teams/orgs should be evaluated on those. Let them not be an exercise in bureaucracy on one hand, nor a micromanagement tool.
