Senior QA Engineer Interview Experience - Boston, Massachusetts
Process
It was a quick setup interview. I was contacted by the recruiter, who told me that he got my resume from their database. Then, he asked me to provide my availability for an interview, which I did. Right after, HR sent the Webex link.
The QA Manager and the Test Engineer sounded like nice people, but I was not expecting that type of interview, so I was not ready.
Questions
Manager question:
Q1. How would you determine the farthest points plotted on a 2D plane?
Q2. Miscellaneous questions about digital certificates, signing, etc.
Q3. Other Linux questions.
QA Engineer Questions:
Q1. Compare these two strings (S = 'ab#C', T = 'ad#C') if they are equal, where '#' acts as a backspace.
Q2. Miscellaneous questions about Linux again.
He asked me about some attribute of the TOP command (starts with 'vm..') that I don't recall seeing. I checked afterward, and it wasn't there.

This is not something most people think of when they think of "diversity and inclusion", but as you become an older worker in the tech industry, you realize these concepts should definitely encompass age diversity as well as race, religion, ethnicity, and sexual orientation.
