Process

5-6 rounds, which includes a managerial round as well.

4-minute technical rounds.

They test your basics on Java.

They focus on core Java skills like collections, object overriding, hashing, and problem-solving.

They mostly ask questions on core Java.

My third round of interview was F2F.

A lean and tall guy came and met me. He took me to a conference room and started going through my profile.

I strongly believe he had prepared a few questions on strings and started asking them.

The first one was reversing a string, and I told him an algorithm. He was asking for code.

I said I would convert them to an array and do the logic. He said I want the logic on how to convert to an array.

He was actually looking for me to use the charAt function.

An intelligent guy, but with a lot of arrogance, I felt.

I had one question on core Java then.

Questions

Reverse of a string.

Method overriding.

Given a string s1="ABCDEF"; s2="123456"; s3="12ABCD34E5F6". s3 is a valid string if it has all the characters from both s1 and s2. The order in which they appear in s3 should be the same order as in the respective strings s1 and s2.

Rules to override a method in a Java subclass.

Java collections like HashMap, TreeMap, LinkedList, etc.
