The interviewer, who was supposed to be a hiring manager, asked me about networking. I answered correctly, as I have 25 years of experience in system and network administration.
He then asked if I knew Python. I said yes, and he replied, "Okay, so my team will ask you some Python questions later." I told him I have even used and administered OpenStack, which is built with Python, and I managed it in a high-scale, high-availability environment.
He asked me questions in Linux, and I answered.
However, the interviewer gave false information to HR and claimed that I did not answer his questions correctly and that I did not show a senior level for the position, which is completely untrue and misleading. I doubt he is even an engineer or has any specialty in IT.
Q: What does BGP do?
My Answer: Border Gateway Protocol advertises routes between different, separate networks, like ISPs.
Q: How to make a Linux machine a router?
A: Enable IP forwarding in the system configuration's sysctl.conf file and...
Interviewer said that is good enough.
Q: Do you know Python?
A: Yes, and I've done a lot with it, especially in OpenStack, as I managed it in a high-scale environment.
Q: Do you know Ansible?
A: I already said in the first round, before this interview, that I've touched based on Ansible, but not in-depth knowledge.
Q: Any other alternative to Ansible?
A: Yes, I worked with Puppet a long time.
