Akamai is a great company to work for in terms of talent and the kind of work they do. The colleagues you will work with are extremely bright, talented, and motivated. You will be exposed to a lot of different areas in the Internet world, and there's a lot to learn. Most groups are open, and you can always just go walk to someone and ask about their product.
Career development is almost non-existent.
Moving between different levels of engineering doesn't really matter much. There's still a lot of the old guard in the company, and it's not easy to compete against them in terms of promotions (which, in a way, is good).
A lot has changed in recent years with a number of acquisitions, and the company is no longer as tight-knit as before.
Benefits are nothing to write home about.
No idea. I'm bad at advice!
All my interviewers were super cool and allowed me enough time to express myself. In the end, they were happy and chose a different candidate based on stack ranking, as communicated to me. The only (hugely) disappointing part was poor as well as inf
Initial phone interview, then onsite. On-site started fine with the manager of the group. The panel interview is where it went off the rails. The panel was trying to flex on each other technically and was more focused on asking esoteric, irrelevant
Got mail from Akamai recruiter, then first round with hiring manager, a deep dive about my past projects, then the next 6 rounds of interviews. Each interview had 2 panel members. Overall, I liked the process. I did very well in all rounds. The bad
