Fully stocked pantry.
Decent perks like transport and allowances, etc.
Good induction program.
Good upper management.
Bad Recruiting HR. Average salary. Below average if you consider companies in the league of Akamai. HR is mostly unresponsive/unreachable. Managers are just that – managers, not leaders. CIO organization has no technical work, only repetitive work on customized products. As a techie, definitely not a place to be if you are from a product company and want to stay long-term. A matured company behaving like a startup and ending up being neither mature nor a startup.
I was promised a different profile when recruited and was expected to work on entirely different things after I joined. Speaking to the manager was of no help. I have had very good feedback of Akamai, but maybe it is limited to different departments in this organization. Mostly CRMs are customized in Enterprise Business Applications group, and for a techie who has worked on a full lifecycle of a product, this work is hardly exciting or stimulating.
There is a lot of slip between the lip and the cup. Akamai is a dream organization for many.
Upper management and the Admin department are outstanding, but please understand people will not stay in an organization for free snacks and juices. Definitely, there is a problem with middle management, who are aware of problems but still tend to ignore things.
Give technical work to employees, or at least, in the interview process, don't look for skills that are not needed by the employee at work. Be more precise and straightforward while conducting interviews and setting the expectations of new joiners.
Interview was very systematic and had around 6 rounds of interviews (4 technical and 2 managerial). I was giving the interview for the role of Senior QA Engineer, which required Linux and Python automation skills. They were looking for a person with
Asked basic questions related to my experience and skills. The interviewer was good but he ghosted me in the end. The interviewer asked basic questions about the project I’m working on. I answered his questions but still, I didn’t get where I was wro
Regular interview related to networking, DNS, and Internet technology. They also covered past experiences related to projects and internships. Scenario-based questions were assessed by going in-depth at certain portions of the answers.
