Interview scheduling was a mess for Goodreads. Two different HR representatives scheduled me for an interview, seemingly without communicating with each other. As a result, they scheduled my interview very spontaneously, creating utter confusion as to whether it was a call with a recruiter or a technical interview. I had no idea. I expected a call with a recruiter, but it turned out to be technical. I certainly was not prepared for that.

I was asked to explain recursion as if I were explaining it to a 5-year-old. I struggled, but more importantly, the interviewer genuinely did not show any interest in me.
