Junior Software Engineer Interview Experience - Amsterdam, Netherlands

Process

The CV and phone screening phases went fast, but then it took them a month and a half to give me the loop interview.

The loop interview was lengthy: 5 hours consecutively with a 1-hour break in the middle.

The algorithm questions were fine, but the system design questions were vague (which they are on purpose). However, even when asking for clarification on key ideas, the interviewers gave vague answers, as if they didn't know the requirements themselves.

I didn't get an offer and received no feedback from the interviewers on what I could improve, even though I thought I answered everything correctly, as the interviewers looked satisfied with my answers.

After some consideration, I'd advise anyone against seriously considering Amazon as a workplace, both because of the interview process and because of the actual toxic work environment there, as I've heard from many people.
