I applied in September 2024 and was interviewed in November. All interviews were remote. The first interview was introductory, while the following two-day session involved five people, one after another.
My recruiter provided a well-laid-out interview schedule and extensive guidance on the process, including plenty of example questions. They primarily aim to get to know you, discuss your experience, and ask behavioral questions. If you follow the STAR method and review Amazon's 14 Leadership Principles, you will likely have most answers prepared. No technical questions were asked; just be familiar with your projects.
I enjoyed speaking with everyone and received positive initial feedback, leading to high hopes for an offer. I was told I would hear back with a decision the following week, but I never did. I attempted to follow up with my recruiter on two separate occasions over the next month, but still received no response. The closest I came to a reply was a survey request, and my application was only recently updated to "no longer considered"—nearly three months after my last conversation and without any email notification.
I feel completely insulted and that my time was a waste. Despite a very positive interview experience and seemingly good initial feedback, the lack of post-interview communication ruined the entire process, and I have nothing to show for it.
If you plan to interview with Amazon, ensure you have other opportunities in your pipeline, as they might not communicate further after you've invested significant effort. Be aware!
A time you took on something outside of your responsibility.
