I applied for the SDE-1 role from the Amazon careers page. After applying, I received an email for a coding round. The coding round was 105 minutes long and contained four questions: two coding questions and two questions asking for a description of code. The expectation for the coding round was an optimized code solution, considering time and space complexity.

After successfully completing the coding round, there were three rounds of interviews: two technical rounds and one managerial round. All three interviews were conducted on the same day.

Round 1 - The interviewer started with a small introduction of both of us. He asked about OOPs concepts and my current project. Then he directly went to the coding questions. He asked me two coding questions, one based on a tree and the other on a graph. After that, he asked me to solve the same questions but with another approach and optimize the solutions further. Then he asked me one question on Amazon Leadership Principles. This round lasted for 65 minutes.

Round 2 - The interviewer started with a small introduction of himself and then directly began with coding questions. In this round, he asked me four questions: two based on a tree and two based on graphs. Before starting the coding for each question, he asked for my approach. This round lasted for 70 minutes.

Round 3 - This was the Managerial round. He asked me questions related to my project, Operating System, DBMS, SQL queries, one coding question, one Amazon Leadership Principle question, and one behavioral question. He asked in-depth questions about my project. This round lasted for 80 minutes.

In every round, they check your problem-solving skills, your approach from the worst to the best solution, and your thought process. Also, after each question, the complexity of the algorithm was asked. It's good to ask questions to get more clarification about the question. They were very friendly while conducting the interview.
