Process
Made it to the interview loop for an SDE 2 role within the ML team. Was mostly asked LC medium questions, but fumbled it because I decided to have the 5 interviews scheduled all on the same day as opposed to split over two days 😵💫

Pathetic work-life balance and career growth
SDE-2 • Former Employee
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
August 28, 2022
Pros: 1. Pays above average.
2. Learn a lot.
3. Work with smart colleagues, mostly.
Cons: 1. Career growth is super slow. With average tenure in Amazon less than 1.5 years, it's hard to talk about promotion with a manager or get feedback from peers when they are joining or leaving so fast.
2. Work-life balance might affect your health in the long run. Employees are treated as disposable. Too many people resign due to burnout.
3. Office politics - Even though you might work hard, less smart people who know managers are promoted first. HR policies are such that they indirectly promote this culture by removing technical assessors from the promo process.
