Based on my long experience with Amazon, either the recruiting team or the interviewers, I'd say they are one of the worst ever to communicate with.
Most of the technical interviewers are poor in knowledge and communication. I believe they were hired because of networking and contacts, without the basis of real experience and competency.
The conundrum is when they are asking for a hiring lead or senior-level engineer, they still ask the most awkward and silly questions, which, in my opinion, reflects a level of technicians, not engineers.
I wouldn't try again with them, unfortunately, as it is not worth it for my mental health and time.
Regards,
The interview featured low-level questions. The manager, who came from a technician background, didn't know how to ask proper questions or even entice the interviewee to stay.
