During my remote Zoom interview for a SWE role, I was given a "Hard" parsing question, but the interviewer's behavior was the real issue.

Throughout the entire session, he didn't even ask my name or about my experience; he was completely disengaged—typing, chatting on another monitor, and paying zero attention to me.

I had to repeat clarifying questions 3 or 4 times just to get an answer because he simply wasn't listening.

Candidates invest immense time, money, and effort to prepare. To be met with such blatant disrespect and zero professional courtesy is deeply insulting and embarrassing.

For a company that boasts about being "customer-obsessed," your candidate experience is completely broken. Start treating candidates like human beings. If an engineer cannot give their undivided attention for a single hour, they have absolutely no business conducting interviews.
