Pros: Interesting problems, complex designs, exposure to new technologies – but highly dependent on the team.
Cons: Promotions are very political (even though they claim merit-based) and highly dependent on your manager and how he/she will present your projects (even though they claim it's more on you).
Then it is determined by how much you've won over the x number of engineers you've worked with.
If your manager changes (my team has had 4 managers over the past 2 years), it effectively resets your promotion process, which is not ideal.

Pros: I've joined Amazon for several months. Overall, it's good. It's highly dependent on your team. My team is very good, and everyone is helpful. AWS is a good place to learn and grow yourself.
Cons: Work-life balance is not good, as you all know.
Benefits are limited.
Mass layoffs caused the PERM process to freeze.
Job security is a worry.

2. Good place for beginners to learn many tech stacks.

Cons: 1. Work pressure is high.
2. Corporate politics increase as you promote to higher levels.
3. No bonus or profit sharing.
