90-minute online assessment
One-hour face-to-face interview (remote). Rejected at this step.
The "loop": 5 more interviews like step 2, all in a single day.
Whole process was very unpleasant:
Amazon will not tell you a target salary or even a range. From googling and asking a contact I knew, I found that it would just about be in the range I was looking at, but I would have to haggle. This is utter BS in this job market; they seem to be arrogant enough to think it's acceptable. Share options are heavily loaded to years 3 and 4 of your employment so they can manage you out before then if you don't fit.
The face-to-face interviewer clearly did not want to be there. He constantly interrupted before I could answer his questions and mostly seemed interested in trying to show he knew more than me. Had I made the loop, then if there had been anyone else like this clown, I would have walked instead of wasting my time any further.
