Pros: Decent flexibility and control over what you work on, so lots of learning opportunities (and, in my opinion, a great post-grad gig). Everyone at Amazon uses AWS, so the experience you build here is directly applicable to 90% of startups and other companies. Plus, there are no internal languages, so pretty much everything you work on is directly transferable to outside the company. Compensation is competitive, and benefits are decent.

Cons: It can be somewhat intense; deadlines are short, and everyone does on-call, which can be stressful and unforgiving. Food is not provided in the office. Make of that what you will.

Pros: Great work culture. One should consider it. Will learn a lot.

Cons: People/Politics - I started to see a lot of the "we are the best in the world" mentality start to show up. I don't believe that everyone that works at Amazon is a genius, and seeing that attitude crop up every now and then was annoying. Every company has inside politics, and even though Amazon tries really hard to believe there is no politics, there is certainly that to deal with. No more than any other company that I can tell, but it can get frustrating when you're working so hard and so long to get derailed by that kind of thing.

Pros: Competitive pay. Great learning opportunities (they will work you to the ground).

Cons: Toxic environment. Colleagues are stack-ranked against one another, so they are incentivized to block you instead of enable you. Management is manipulative and dangles carrots through promo promises, only to let you go on a moment's notice.
