A recruiter reached out to me and scheduled a call. They then sent me an online assessment.
Signing up for it involved acknowledging that I could be fired at any point – red flag #1.
I was pressured to complete the three-hour online assessment before the call, which was scheduled for three days later. The assessment was dystopian, featuring an email inbox simulation and a personality test.
It included one easy/medium and one hard coding question. I did not complete the hard one, and the recruiter cancelled the meeting invite without any message whatsoever.
The role also wasn't advertised in my city. When I clarified this, they didn't correct the ad but said it was. I think they wanted to meet a quota.
This was a very weird experience with many red flags. It was not a good culture fit.
I didn't get as far as speaking to a human beyond the cold call.
