Pros: - You get to work with some of the brightest people in the industry. - The work is challenging and you get lots to learn.

Cons: - Workload can get overwhelming. - It’s a large organization, so it’s easy to get lost.

Pros: You're surrounded by smart people who have a passion for their jobs. Depending on your team, there's a good chance you'll be working on a really interesting and important project. No dress code or set schedule, of course. High compensation.

Cons: Be prepared to feel bad about yourself for every minute you're not actively working. In addition, Amazon is a giant company, and nothing gets done very quickly. The bureaucracy is enormous and unwieldy. Probably one of the biggest problems can be summed up in Amazon's central tenet: frugality. It's all very well not to spend money unnecessarily, but what kind of corporate culture does "frugality" create? A nonexistent one. There are no fun and quirky activities, no interesting benefits, and no unifying sense of belonging together; it simply feels like a large, impersonal company. I'm glad I worked at Amazon, but I never felt proud to be part of any kind of Amazon family.

Pros: - Compensation - Career building resume addition - If you land with the right team, it can be an incredible experience - Work from home - PTO - Scale

Cons: If you land with the wrong team, it can be a terrible experience. Career advancement can be very political. Suck up to the right people, move 100 mph when people are watching and 1 mph when they're not, be unhelpful to your peers, make your peers look bad... Do all of this and you'll look great and be promoted. If instead you focus on working hard, being helpful, being a team player, and moving at a good pace regardless of who's watching or the visibility, then you won't get promoted.
